The incompetence of President Joe Biden is leading the U.S. down the path toward World War III, according to former President Donald Trump.
The real estate mogul-turned-chief executive noted this observation in an Oct. 21 post on his Truth Social account. “We are heading to WWIII because of grossly incompetent leadership, headed by a president that doesn’t have a clue,” he wrote.
Trump, the clear front-runner for the Republican Party’s 2024 presidential nomination, has repeatedly criticized Biden over his foreign policy decisions. His criticism centered on Biden’s decisions over the Russia-Ukraine war, pointing out that continued arms shipments to Kyiv could trigger a global conflict.
Earlier this year, Trump also suggested that the Russia-Ukraine war “would never have happened” if he was still president. He continued that even if it did, he “would be able to negotiate an end to this horrible and rapidly escalating war within 24 hours.” (Related: Trump: COMPROMISE with Russia could have helped Ukraine avoid war.)
Dmitry Peskov, press secretary for the Kremlin, said the former U.S. president was “not far away from the truth” with his earlier remarks. According to the spokesman for Russian President Vladimir Putin, Washington could have quickly put an end to the conflict given its status as Kyiv’s key backer.
In September, Trump reiterated his opinion that Biden is incompetent during an appearance on “The Megyn Kelly Show.” He told former Fox News host Megyn Kelly that Biden’s incompetence, not his advanced age, is the main issue. Given this, Trump insisted that the former vice president should not be given another four-year term.
“He’s not too old. He’s incompetent,” Trump told Kelly. “Age is interesting, because some people are very sharp and some people do lose it, but you lose it at 40 and 50 also. But no, he’s not too old at all. He’s grossly incompetent.”
Even Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban has acknowledged that Trump is the only one who can prevent WWIII. He made this remark during an August interview with former Fox News host Tucker Carlson. Just like Trump, Orban was known as a populist politician in his native Hungary.
Sitting down with Carlson in the Hungarian capital Budapest, Orban said his ideal solution to the Russia-Ukraine war would be to bring about a peace settlement immediately. However, this would only be possible if Trump returns to 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue.
“Trump is the man who can save the Western world, and probably all the human beings on the globe,” Orban told Carlson. “Call back Trump. That’s the only way out.”
According to the Hungarian prime minister, the “best foreign policy of the recent several decades” belonged to Trump. He cited how the former president did not start any new wars; sought peace deals in the Middle East; and engaged with the Chinese, the North Koreans and the Russians with respect.
“He’s criticized because he’s not educated enough to understand the world politics. This is not the case,” Orban insisted. “Facts count, and his foreign policy was the best form for the world in the last several decades I have seen.”
